Acoustic-indie-rock singer/songwriter Brad Byrd has performed in venues such as Los Angeles’ (Hotel Cafe, Viper Room), Colorado’s (Ford Ampitheater – X Games) New York City’s (Mercury Lounge, Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Electric), as well as Boston’s (Paradise Lounge, TT’s, Brighton Music Hall, Cafe 939) to name a few in each city, including various other coffee shops, clubs/bars, theaters, colleges, churches, and festivals throughout the US and Canada. Brad has shared the stage with a diverse range of acts such as Reel Big Fish, Jurassic 5, Gold Motel, Family of the Year, Willy Mason, Goldspot, Brian Wright, Julian Velard, Mary Lou Lord, Adam Ezra and many others worthy of note. Brad’s music and sound has been described as “haunting and soulful” in the vein of Pete Yorn, Ryan Adams, Nada Surf, Joseph Arthur, and/or Aimee Mann yet with a “sound and feel all of it’s own.” – Gimmesound.com
Brad’s critically acclaimed debut record “The Ever Changing Picture” was nationally distributed in stores in the U.S. in 2005. Various songs off that record have featured in independent films and popular television shows on MTV, VH1, E!, ESPN, UPN and radio stations such as Boston’s 92.5 The River, Hyannis’s Cool 102 and charting (#145) on others. Various singles off that debut album also went on to chart on Artistdirect.com in the company of major label artists such as Jewel and Jason Mraz.
Brad’s sophomore record “Mental Photograph” was recently released in the fall of 2011 and has since garnered critical acclaim from popular on line music sites such as Europe’s Melodic.net whom nominated the album as of one of the best singer/songwriter albums of 2011 alongside heavyweights such Bon Iver and Ryan Adams. Early singles “Zero to the 101” and “Hourglass” were recently featured on the hit ABC comedy “Happy Endings”, and are currently being picked up by radio stations internationally.
