On July 2nd of this year i began playing shows in support of my new album “Mental Photograph” which hit stores (online) September 13th.  I had been laying low for a couple years trying to finish up the record and planning it’s release.  That show on 7/2 was at a place called the “Radio Bean” in Burlington, VT and fittingly I will end my “fall 2011 year end run” with a show at “Radio Bean” this Sat night 12/17 @ 9pm.  Start solo, end solo?  All in all i’ve done upwards of 50 live appearances since July.  Friday night, 12/16,  i’ll be putting the big bad band together again for a set of indie-alt-country-rock at “The Plough & Stars” in Cambridge, MA @10pm with Steve Scully (drums), Joe Klompus (bass), and Peter Parcek on guitar.  Both nights will also feature the talented “Bandit Kings” on the bill.  They’ll be bringing their own blend of high energy indie/country/rock flavorings to the stage.  Always a fun hang.  It’s been a lot of fun sharing some bills with them this fall.  If you haven’t seem them live yet you should!  Seriously, thanks for coming out again to the shows this year…  It’s been a busy one.  2012 is shaping up to be the busiest year yet.  Stay tuned….

btw, I wanted to take a sec to thank those of you who bought a painting at a live show this year!  2011 marked the first time I decided to bring some of my artwork out to shows with me as a “new merch addition”.   You certainly helped me cover some travel expenses on the road as I sold 7 paintings since August so i’m pretty blown away and excited about it.  Thanks again…  I’ll keep making them!

Elusive Tiger – So, lastly, wanted to chime in about E.T.  Releasing music on my own for the first time has been an exciting an interesting endeavor.  After talking with many “industry folk” prior to the release of my 2nd official full length album about “how” to put out a record in this chaotic marketplace, well, it kept leading me back to one conclusion.  Put it out on your own.  I decided to use “Tunecore” as my online distributer and it’s been a great experience thus far.  They’ve been totally cool and have got my new record into all of the necessary online stores such as iTunes, Spotify, etc.  I actually got my first distribution check from them recently sent to my own label/company and it felt pretty amazing.  Thanks for buying some songs!!  As some of you know my first record was released on an indie label out of Los Angeles, CA in 2005.  Some great things came of it such as national in store “physical” distribution (end caps, etc), some radio play, some tv/film exposure, however the big thing is that i’ve never seen any $ on the backend from digital sales.  Nor probably will I.  So when everyone buys a tune off “The Ever Changing Picture” album it goes in someone else’s pocket.  Oh well, no biggie.  Not that I was expecting to see that much $ but I’ve always wondered about it.  But seeing my first distribution check from Tunecore made me realize that there is indeed some people buying my music out there.  Long story short – It feels great to know and SEE the $ coming in for my hardwork!  Finally.  It’s been a long time.  I’m hoping you keep buying the songs so I can keep making them.  Thanks.  btw, (side-bar) Elusive Tiger Records (ETR) is looking for potential investors.  If you or someone you know might be interested in talking contact us at bradbyrdmgmt@gmail.com
